An edited list of active noise control web sites is maintained at the Open Directory Project.

Companies

Signal Systems Corporation: Research and development in new active noise control systems for military and commercial applications.

Noise Cancellation Technology Group: This site offers active noise control headphones and speech enhancement products.

LORD Corporation: vibration isolation and cabin noise quieting products for the aircraft industry.

Bose: developing active noise cancellation headphones for military use.

CSA Engineering: developing an active spacecraft fairing system to reduce acoustic induced vibration on payloads.

Universities

Virginia Tech: fundamental and applied research in active noise control. Vibration and Acoustics Laboratory is directed by Prof. Chris Fuller, a pioneer in the field.

University of South Hampton - ISVR: fundamental and applied research in all aspects of active noise control. One of the original institutions to perform research in the active noise control field.

Southern Methodist University: Prof. Scott Douglas has developed a technique for fast multichannel Least Mean Squares (LMS) adaptive filtering that reduces computations in active control considerably.

Oregon Graduate Institute: Prof Eric Wan's research has lead to the Adjoint LMS algorithm, a simple (not exact) fast LMS algorithm for multiple channel active noise control.

Government

Office of Naval Research: sponsors active noise control research applied to undersea weapons and vehicles.

DARPA DSO: sponsors research and development in the application of smart materials to active noise control problems.

DARPA MTO: sponsors research and development in the application of active noise control to air-coupled sensors and related applications
