Collaborative Alliance for Robotic Technology

Under the Collaborative Alliance for Robotic Technology, SSC is developing new acoustic perception technology. This advanced perception research will enable robotic vehicles to sense adversaries and obstacles automatically. We are currently studying new techniques for passive and active acoustic sensing.

The Collaborative Alliance for Robotic Technology, includes 14 academic and commercial members focused on developing robotic technologies that enable high-speed autonomous movement in unstructured environments, and to provide robotics technology to future combat systems in all aspects of land warfare.

Members of the alliance, called the Cooperative Alliance for Robotic Technology (CART) consortium, are General Dynamics, Carnegie Mellon University, Florida A&M University, SRI International, Applied Systems Intelligence, Inc., Jet Propulsion Laboratory, BAE Systems, Sarnoff Corporation, University of Maryland, Micro Analysis and Design, Percep Tek, Science and Engineering Services Inc., Signal Systems Corporation and AAI Corporation.

The alliance is designed to encourage the development of new robotic technologies and to help bring robots into the military. This collaboration is sponsored by the Army Research Lab, ARL, and Signal Systems Corporation is proud to be a part of it. To find out more go to http://www.arl.mil/alliances/roboview.htm.
